Worldwide, there are 25+ million
hemorrhagic strokes reported annually.

1 in 50 people have an unruptured aneurysm.

When a section on an artery of the brain weakens, a balloon can form in the vessel.
As blood continues to flow into the aneurysm, pressure builds up until the
aneurysm ruptures, causing a potentially fatal hemorrhagic stroke.

Flow diverter stents divert blood flow away from the aneurysm

Current treatments are invasive or limited in the aneurysms they can treat. Flow diverters are tubular stents placed minimally invasively to divert blood flow towards the proper path.

The current process for stent development is slow and iterative

Current stent modelling involves laborious prototyping and bench testing to optimize mechanical characteristics.

Project Goal

By automating the 3D modeling of stent geometries, we aim to create a design tool that will improve the design agility and flexibility of stent development.
